Yiting is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo with multiple work experiences in buy-side finance. Yiting is currently a Venture Capital Analyst at Khazanah Americas, and has previously worked as a Private Equity Analyst at PSP Investments. Returning in 2017 as Co-Head and Managing Director, Yiting is excited to leverage her experiences to continue building the hEDGE brand and delivering the best conference experience yet. During her spare time, you can find Yiting brushing up on her dance skills or splurging on bubble tea.
Justin Lee is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo. Justin currently works as a Private Equity Analyst at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, specializing in Infrastructure & Natural Resources. Prior to this, he completed a term at National Bank Financial as an Investment Banking Analyst. After an amazing year being a part of the hEDGE 2016 team, he is excited to return as a Co-Head & Managing Director and looks forward to continue building the hEDGE brand. In his spare time, Justin enjoys catching up on TV shows and keeping fit.
Cherrie is a fourth year student in the Mathematics/Chartered Professional Accountancy Program and she is very excited to be returning to the hEDGE team this year. Cherrie completed her first two work terms as an Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers and is currently completing her third work term as an Investment Banking Analyst at BMO Capital Markets. In school, Cherrie is also a Senior Analyst on the SAF Student-run Investment Fund covering financials and has served as an executive on UW DECA. Cherrie is passionate about using her experiences to make hEDGE 2017 the most memorable conference yet for both attendees and sponsors. In her spare time, Cherrie enjoys watching baseball, listening to podcasts, and reading food blogs.
Jordan is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo. He has previously completed co-op terms as an Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers within their Emerging Company Services practice, focusing on start-ups. Having served as Co-President of UW DECA, Jordan hopes to leverage his past experiences to bring hEDGE 2017 to new heights for all delegates and sponsors involved. Outside of school, you can find Jordan on a basketball court or catching up on the latest TV shows.
David is a third year Computing and Financial Management Student with interest both in software engineering and finance. Throughout the past 4 years, David was involved in a variety of startups and youth organizations. David hopes put his skills of marketing, design and software development to make this year's conference more engaging, fun and incredible than ever.
Rebecca is currently a second year student in the Accounting and Financial Management program. She will be joining KPMG in their Transaction Services/Deal Advisory group in January and spent the past summer as an Analyst in TD's Technology program. As a returning member of the team, Rebecca is excited to come back as Director and bring her experience from planning the 2016 conference to another great year. In her spare time, she is an adrenaline junkie that loves to travel and is always seeking out new adventures.
Davis is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student (reluctantly). He'll be working next term as a Fixed Income Sales & Trading Analyst at RBC Capital Markets and is currently working as a Trading Analyst on a Securities Lending Desk at CIBC Capital Markets. Davis is excited to bring his energy and interest in finance to help make hEDGE 2017 the best year yet. He looks forward to actively engaging with the team and sponsors to give hEDGE delegates a truly memorable and valuable experience. Outside of school and work, Davis enjoys staying active, gaming and laughing at dank memes on Twitter.
Su is a third year in the Accounting and Financial Management Program and recently finished her co-op term as a Staff Accountant at Chan & Co Professional. With a strong passion in Finance, Su is a member of the Women in Capital Markets Uniconnect and enjoyed competing in various finance competitions including Investors of Tomorrow InvestYoung Stock Pitch Competition. With her amazing past experience as an Associate of hEDGE, Su is excited to return as a Director of hEDGE. She is very determined to try her best and contribute towards making hEDGE the most outstanding conference. In her spare time, Su enjoys swimming, watching movies and making paper origami.
Aashish is a fourth year student in the Accounting and Financial Management program, and currently works at KPMG LLP as a staff accountant. Having gained exposure to both the Consumer Markets and Technology sector audit industries along with experience in personal and corporate global income taxation, Aashish is excited to broaden his knowledge and understanding of finance and global capital markets as a Director on the hEDGE team. Aashish intends to further his passion for project management and relationship-building by contributing to developing a unique and memorable experience for potential sponsors and delegates alike. In his spare time, Aashish enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through sports and fitness, spending time with friends and family, and obsessing over food-related television. Aashish is very excited to be a part of hEDGE 2017 and intends to do his utmost to contribute to its success.
Raghav is a second year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo. His strong interest in investing and the capital markets has been developed over the years and attending conferences such as the Ira Sohn Investment Conference in New York has solidified that. Raghav hopes to apply his financial knowledge and event planning experience to contribute to delivering the best hEDGE conference yet. In his free time, Raghav enjoys playing and watching football as well as watching the latest TV shows
Mitchell Ho is currently a first year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo. As a new addition to the team, Mitchell hopes to learn a lot, and is ecstatic in bringing together his experiences to deliver both a valuable and unforgettable hEDGE 2017 for all delegates. Through his involvement in Science Expo and HOSA Canada, he has acquired extensive experience in conference and event planning, which he hopes to leverage on hEDGE this year. Aside from Mitchell's strong interest towards the world of finance, he also enjoys working with children in various capacities on his spare time at the Ontario Science Centre, as well as travelling and gaining exposure to different cultures around the world.
Jessica is currently in her first year in Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Waterloo. She is excited to be involved in the School of Accounting and Finance community as a new member of hEDGE, applying her past leadership experiences in organizing and planning events. Jessica aims to learn more about the finance opportunities that are available to her, to be better prepared for shaping her future career path, while fostering her interpersonal communication skills within the team and with hEDGE’s sponsors. She is looking forward to working with the wonderfully talented and dynamic set of individuals on the hEDGE team of 2016. Her favourite pastimes include dancing, debating, and travelling, which run parallel to her passions for exploring new experiences and self-awareness.
Jack is a second year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo. With a passion for commodities and the capital markets, he is joining hEDGE hoping to expand his knowledge alongside the other talented individuals on the team. Jack is looking forward to take his prior experience organizing conferences, and events, to create the best hEDGE yet. In his spare time, Jack is a sports analytics fanatic and enjoys playing baseball, cooking, and reading online discussion boards.
Jordan Mehravar is a second-year Psychology undergraduate at the University of Waterloo. He designs graphics and websites for clients on freelancing platforms. As a new member of the organizing team, Jordan is eagered to learn more about sales and trading from his colleagues and industry professionals. He also looks forward to making new friends and making this year's conference the best one yet. During his free time, Jordan likes to play chess, listen to music, and read nonfiction books.
