Bojan is a fourth year student in the Accounting and Financial Management program. After an amazing year as part of the hEDGE 2014 team, Bojan is excited to return as a co-head in 2015 and continue building the value hEDGE brings to its sponsors and the undergraduate finance community.
Bojan is currently on a co-op term as an Investment Banking Analyst at BMO Capital Markets and has previously worked at Veritas Investment Research Corporation as an Equity Research Associate. In school, Bojan has served as a Junior Portfolio Manager for the SAF Student-run Investment Fund.
In his spare time, Bojan enjoys learning foreign languages, participating in intramural sports, and digital music production.
Rebecca is a fourth year student in the Accounting and Financial Management program and currently completing a co-op term with TD Securities as an Investment Banking Analyst, and previously at EY in assurance. At school, she has worked for the School of Accounting and Finance Student-Run Investment Fund as a Senior Analyst and enjoyed running the SERVE Volleyball Club for the past two years.
Rebecca had an awesome year coordinating hEDGE 2014 and is thrilled to return to co-head the 2015 conference. She looks forward to introducing new events and continuing the success hEDGE has seen year after year. In her spare time, Rebecca loves travelling, snowboarding and playing golf.
Wendy is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student pursuing a career in finance. As a delegate on hEDGE 2013 and director on hEDGE 2015, Wendy is ecstatic to make hEDGE 2015 the best year yet. Wendy is currently working at TD Securities as an Investment Banking Analyst (Co-op) in the Diversified Industries Group. She has previously served as a junior analyst on the SAF Student-Run Investment Fund. During her free time, Wendy enjoys practicing hot yoga and eating desserts.
Michael Cheung is a third year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo and will be working as a Sales & Trading Analyst at BMO Capital Markets having worked at TD for his previous co-op term. Michael had a wonderful time coordinating hEDGE for the third year and counting, and is super excited to return as Managing Director at the 2015 conference. Michael hopes that this conference will be able to inspire and teach others about the capital markets as much as it did to him. In his spare time, Michael enjoys camping, swimming and playing badminton.
Gerry is a fourth year student and thethe current President of the Accounting and Finance Student Association, which is responsible for over 2000 students within the School of Accounting and Finance. He has completed his co-op terms at PwC within their Financial Services Group and recently completed his CFA Level 1. As a new Managing Director, he hopes to bring his passion for finance and leadership in growing the hEDGE brand and organizing the best hEDGE conference yet. Outside of hEDGE, he’s a bit of an adrenaline junkie and plans to go on his 6th bungee jump late this year.
Arthur is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student at the University of Waterloo. He is currently completing a co-op term at CIBC World Markets as an Investment Banking Analyst and has previously worked at OTPP and KPMG. At school, Arthur is also involved in the School of Accounting and Finance Student-Run Investment Fund, covering the materials and oil & gas sectors. In his spare time, Arthur enjoys working out and playing a variety of sports. Arthur is delighted to be a part the hEDGE 2015 team and hopes to deliver the best conference experience.
Priya Murali is a second year Computing and Financial Management student with a keen interest in both capital markets and technology. Having had a fantastic experience being on the 2014 team, she is excited to rejoin the team to make hEDGE 2015 an even more memorable conference. Priya has completed her first co-op term at Microsoft, and is currently completing a work term at Google. Outside of her school work, Priya represents the University of Waterloo as a member of the varsity squash team.
Henry is a fourth year accounting and financial management student at the University of Waterloo. During his co-op terms, he has worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an audit associate and has enjoyed the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of how companies operate across various industries. Over the recent years, Henry has enjoyed competing in various finance competitions including the National Investment Banking Competition, Anish Chopra Investment Research Challenge, DBRS Case Competition and UWFA Stock Pitch Competition. In his spare time, Henry is a food enthusiast and enjoys trying different restaurants, cooking and frequenting farmers markets. This is Henry’s first time on hEDGE and he is excited to meet new people and make this the best conference as of yet.
Jasmine is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student and is thrilled be a returning Director. She is currently completing her co-op terms in the Assurance practice at PwC in the Capital Markets group. Jasmine is excited to bring hEDGE 2015 to new heights while leveraging her multitude of prior experiences. She was a first year co-ordinator for UWAC 2012, Canada's premier undergraduate accounting conference, and served as the Co-President of Swaggerloo, a non-profit student service for affordable custom apparel. Currently, she is on the Board of Directors for the ACE Consulting group, a University of Waterloo student group with a mission of providing pro bono consulting and accounting consulting services to local start-up businesses and campus organizations. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hot yoga and enjoying food with great company.
Ambrose is a fourth year Accounting and Financial Management student. Ambrose has spent his past co-op terms working at Grant Thornton LLP in assurance and expatriate tax. His passion for finance stems from learning in class and staying up to date with capital markets. Ambrose plans on applying his knowledge in accounting and tax towards a career in corporate finance. He is excited to contribute to the hEDGE 2015 team because he wants to leverage his skills and experience gained through his active involvement in various organizations to ensure the success of the conference. Beyond the classroom, Ambrose strives to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle through eating clean, training hard, bouldering, and playing Ultimate Frisbee. However, his love for trying new foods may not always coincide with his fitness goals.
Evelyn is a third year Mathematics/Chartered Professional Accountancy student and is very excited to be joining the hEDGE team this year. After completing her first work term in Ernst & Young’s assurance practice, her interest in finance grew through working with clients in the insurance and asset management industries. Having previously been involved with UW DECA and Global China Connection-Waterloo in organizing conferences and competitions, Evelyn is looking forward to leveraging those experiences to make hEDGE 2015 the most rewarding and memorable experience yet for all delegates and sponsors. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoys listening to music, playing golf and tennis, as well as working her way to completing her yoga teaching certification.
Anthony is a second year Accounting and Financial Management student. He is currently working at Deloitte for his first co-op term in the Audit, Assurance and Advisory practice within the Financial Institutions Group. With a passion for analytics and the capital markets, he is joining hEDGE hoping to expand his knowledge alongside the other talented individuals on the team. Anthony is looking forward to take his prior experience organizing conferences to create the best hEDGE yet. Outside of finance, his interests also include going to the gym and trying new recipes when cooking albeit with varying degrees of success.
Haoran is a third year Accounting and Financial Management student. He has interned at Timbercreek Asset Management and at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Audit and Assurance Associate working on banking and capital markets clients. In addition, Haoran is a profound advocate of volunteerism, having worked with Free the Children, Camp Tamakwa of Algonquin Park, and Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE) in the past.
Looking forward, Haoran hopes to bring his personal experiences and range of skills to create lasting memories for all delegates, and participating organizations, at hEDGE 2015. In his free time, Haoran immerses himself in documentaries, planning trips, and all things fitness.
David is a first year Computing Financial Student with interest both in computer science and finance. Throughout the past 4 years, David was involved in a variety of startups. From development companies to nonprofit organizations, David will put his skills of marketing, design and development to make this year's conference more engaging, fun and incredible than ever.
